The Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) is the Australian Government’s primary mechanism for delivering programmes to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Funding is available across five programmes: Jobs, Land and Economy; Children and Schooling; Safety and Wellbeing; Culture and Capability; and Remote Australia Strategies.

IAS grants are competitive and can range from small community projects to large-scale regional programmes. Applications are assessed against published criteria relevant to each programme stream.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, non-profits, local government bodies, and other organisations delivering services to Indigenous communities. Applicants must demonstrate capacity to deliver and alignment with IAS programme objectives.

Detailed project plan, budget, evidence of community need, organisational capability statement, and letters of support. Large grants may require co-contributions.
