The Foundation funds programs in health, education and the arts that make a difference in Australia and our region. Under the legacy scheme, the Foundation fund initiatives that will leave an enduring legacy in the community or our near region, and make a difference for years to come. This will include funding for institutions, public art, prizes and scholarships. This scheme differs from the other funding streams in that the grants it offers will tend to be larger and funded entirely by the Harold Mitchell Foundation.

Organisations must be endorsed as both a Tax Concession Charity and a Deductible Gift Recipient.
