About This Grant
Supports projects in six key themes. Social: mentor and empower men and women in our communities, building inclusion, diversity and equity. Educational: help people acquire skills, break free and embrace new challenges, and projects that support community health and wellbeing. Community Development: enhance experiences for locals and visitors alike, provide economic and social benefits and develop community assets. Environmental: community habitats, encouraging recycling, assisting in recovery from disaster, and driving sustainability using clean energy. Cultural: recognise and preserve heritage and history to benefit local communities; Community Connection: bring communities together, connecting residents, businesses, the vulnerable and volunteers for mutual benefit.
Eligibility
Supports projects that support the communities they're a part of: Newcastle, Sydney, Southern Highlands, Illawarra, Shoalhaven, Far South Coast, ACT and Melbourne. To receive funding, your project will need to serve communities in these regions, and you'll need to be able open an IMB Bank Account in one of their branches.
Legal requirements: Social enterprise, Nonprofit legal entity (inc. assn, company, coop. or trust), School, P&C Assn or P&F Assn
Exclusions
Advocacy for particular groups; Sporting or 'event' sponsorships; Donations; Budget deficits on projects in progress; Ongoing operational expenses; Excessive travel, accommodation and meal expenses; political objectives; Projects promoted by and/or involving commercial or profit-seeking organisations; Organisations that maintain discriminatory practices; Other foundations that are grant making bodies; Capital expenditure (unless forming an integral part of a project).
