About This Grant

Supports and empowers communities at the margins of Australian society by walking alongside community-based organisations to improve lives through education in all its forms. Prioritise projects that: ensure equity in quality education so that individuals/communities are empowered to realise their full potential; promote economic independence through supporting the strengthening of livelihoods; support community engagement & participation activities that involve the community to solve issues in their communities.

Eligibility

Stream 1: only open to Sisters of Saint Joseph (SOSJ) and associated entities. Stream 2: all applicants who meet the eligibility criteria: community organisation or charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and with an Australian Business Number (ABN); project delivered within Australia. Preference given to Small Charities as defined by the ACNC i.e., with annual revenue below $250,000.

Legal requirements: Tax Concession Charity (TCC), Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR1), Public Benevolent Institution, Aboriginal Community-Controlled, Nonprofit legal entity (inc. assn, company, coop. or trust), ACNC Registered Charity

Exclusions

Individuals; ongoing service delivery; multiple applications from one organisation; public appeal for single beneficiaries; full salaries/wages/stipends; full project administration costs; capital funding; emergency relief; ongoing running costs for a project; activities for the promotion of a particular faith or religious adherence; political parties; activities that could create unwanted dependency on project funds.
