About This Grant
To continue building research capacity in medical education and training for general practice with a specific focus on education improvement. Research priority areas: supervision; artificial Intelligence technologies in general practice; education and assessment; career pathways; training environments; embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander values, knowledge, practice and worldview; rural general practice training; research capacity; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander general practitioners.
Eligibility
The proposal must be submitted by an eligible research team, that includes at minimum the following members/expertise: Medical Educator with expertise in GP training; expertise in education research; expertise in academic general practice; novice or early career researchers (e.g. PhD candidates and current or recent Academic Registrars). Research teams must have active, collaborative relationships with: regional GP training teams, which will facilitate the regional delivery and translation of research projects and a university department of general practice or equivalent (including a rural clinical school).

Exclusions
Non-specific administrative overheads; expenses incurred beyond the project funding period; ongoing costs associated with resource management and maintenance beyond the project completion date; physical infrastructure/contribution to large capital projects; subscriptions or memberships; items related to international conference attendance.

Prior to submitting an expression of interest, the medical educator in the project team must discuss the research proposal with the relevant Director(s) of Training and/or the National Clinical Leads which should happen at the beginning of project development and no later than four weeks prior to the EOI closing date.
