How to Apply

By Invitation / relationship. Fred Archer and Eric Storm, lifelong friends after working on a Queensland cattle station before the outbreak of World War I, set up the Fred P. Archer Charitable Trust in 1961 when the pair had made their fortune. The trust was set up to support charities in Papua New Guinea after Archer's experience operating a plantation there fuelled his desire to help. Archer died in 1977 and Storm, who had been a commodities trader in Indonesia, ran the charity until his death in 2000, supporting organisations such as the National Trust and the Royal Flying Doctor. Storm also established the Eric Storm Charitable Trust.
