Our mission is to inspire and empower First Nations Youth with coding skills, confidence and opportunities to achieve their dreams and create a better world for all who live in it. By engaging with CoderDojo First Nations and supporting First Nations Youth to learn how to code, we can help Close the Gap.

In 2016, more than half (53%) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were aged under 25 years. By empowering First Nations Youth to achieve their self-determination and career aspirations, we can re-shape our communities for the better.

“By 2020 there will be 1,000,000 more jobs than students to fill engineering roles.”

How does it work?

CoderDojo First Nations partners with education organisations to run school-based Entrepreneurship and Coding programs for First Nations students or ALL students. If you would like to have CoderDojo First Nations at your school or community, please email [email protected] to discuss further.

What will we be doing?

Hands-on learning. No grades, no expectations. As well as coding, you could be designing video games or websites, creating awesome graphics, building electronic circuits or high tech clothing, or even making and editing films and music! Basically, anything related to computers, in any way!
