Born from the successful Indigenous Startup Weekend, Barayamal is the world’s first First Nations Accelerator program.

Barayamal is one of the few business support programs that operate from a First Nations perspective (Indigenous vs Western business) and it provides essential education workshops, mentoring, early seed capital and working desk space. It concludes with a demo day event.

The Accelerator will seek out the most innovative and disruptive Indigenous startups and entrepreneurs. Through the course of the 3-month intensive program, the Indigenous startups are supported by Indigenous entrepreneurs (mentors) and receive education from business experts, free co-working space and financial investment. Over three months the Startups will rapidly develop their businesses and showcase their success at the culminating demo pitch night.

How the First Nations Accelerator Works

1. Collaborate with partners

Barayamal only works with the leading Government organisations and corporates who genuinely want to strengthen reconciliation in Australia through Indigenous entrepreneurship and economic development.

2. Identify and select the Indigenous startups

Barayamal will seek out the most innovative and disruptive Indigenous startups throughout Australia.

3. Barayamal Accelerator Program

Barayamal is a world-class start-up accelerator program for Indigenous entrepreneurs, with effective and culturally appropriate support, at each stage, from concept development to standalone businesses.

Supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs increases jobs and economic development in Australia.
