Who’s David Unaipon?
Children’s illustrated biography
The man on Australia’s fifty-dollar note was an inventor, a writer and a Ngarrindjeri leader. Nine short chapters follow David Unaipon from a curious boy at Point McLeay Mission to a figure known across the country.
Who’s Fanny Cochrane Smith?
Children’s illustrated biography
In 1899 and again in 1903, Fanny Cochrane Smith sang into a wax-cylinder recorder, leaving what remains the only surviving audio of any original Tasmanian Aboriginal language; the recordings joined the Australian Memory of the World Register in 2017. Seven chapters trace her life from the Wybalenna settlement on Flinders Island to the home she and her husband built at Nicholls Rivulet.
The Black Swan of Swanlake
Children’s picture book
Nora is a black swan in a kingdom that believes black swans bring bad luck — until the lake begins to dry and an old story says only a black swan’s song can call the rain. A short read-aloud about difference and belonging, named for the bird that gives Barayamal its name.
Wisdom of the Ancestors
Quote collection · Indigenous Quotes for Modern Times
Indigenous voices from Australia and around the world, gathered into six themes — spirituality and nature, community, resilience, cultural identity, daily living, and advocacy and justice — each chapter pairing the quotes with a section on what they ask of us now.

First People Stories
Short illustrated biographies written for younger readers, each about a First Nations life that left its mark on Australia. Each book closes with reflection questions and a timeline; Who’s David Unaipon? adds a glossary, so a teacher or a parent has somewhere to take the conversation next.
