Eligibility and evidence

You may apply after completing the Udemy course, creating your own Practice Pack and preparing a Sandbox draft or edit plan using public, reliable sources. Publishing a live article is not required.

Complete all learning items in Wikipedia Editing for Beginners: First Nations Edition.
Complete the Barayamal Practice Pack using your own work.
Provide a public Sandbox or edit-diff URL, or an edit plan if you should not publish.
Show source assessment, neutral writing, conflict-of-interest judgement and cultural-safety reasoning.
Submit only information you are permitted to share.

Do not submit private information, restricted cultural knowledge, unpublished community material or anything you do not have authority to share. Learners under 18 should submit through a parent, guardian or approved education provider.

To pass, a learner must achieve at least 80/100, demonstrate competence in every criterion and have no critical ethics, safety or integrity failure. Learners who do not yet meet the standard receive feedback and may resubmit.

Critical failures include fabricated evidence or sources, plagiarism, undisclosed paid editing, contentious poorly sourced claims about a living person, or publishing restricted or culturally sensitive knowledge when authority or consent is unclear.

Issuance and verification

What successful learners receive

A PDF certificate showing the learner name, credential title, issuer, issue date, criteria version and an ID in the format B-WIKI-FDN-YYYY-####.

Third-party verification

A third party may verify a credential by emailing d.foley@barayamal.com.au with its ID. Barayamal will confirm only validity, name, issue date and criteria version unless the learner has consented to further disclosure.
